Resource Management

Resource Management is a responsive product designed to help Practice Managers monitor clinical resources, manage availability, and optimize daily operations.
The Challenge
Following Oracle’s acquisition of Cerner, Product Owners were navigating the tension between Cerner’s legacy product mindset and Oracle’s vision for the future. The challenge was to move the product forward without losing sight of the realities of the existing technology, user needs, and established healthcare workflows.
I led discussions to introduce Oracle’s design philosophy and Redwood design system, while encouraging the team to think beyond current-state functionality and consider opportunities for AI and more future-focused experiences. Throughout the process, I balanced what the product could support today, what users needed, and where Oracle wanted the product to go tomorrow.
My Involvement
Owned the project from discovery through delivery, leading the end-to-end design process.
Collaborated closely with Product Owners and Development to ensure the solution met user needs while leveraging existing coded components to support consistency and efficient implementation.
Partnered closely with our Human Factors Research team throughout the project, iterating on designs based on user feedback and validating solutions through multiple rounds of user research.

Mapping out where Resource Management fits into the larger Patient Administration System story.
